Ingredients
- Oat Flour Sugar Cookies:
- 1 1/2 cups of butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. almond extract (optional)
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 cups Oatsome Oat flour
- Butter Cream Recipe:
- 1 cup butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 Tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp orange zest (optional)
Directions
Oat Flour Sugar Cookies Recipe:
- In a large bowl, beat butter with a mixer on medium speed to high for 30 seconds.
- Add sugar and baking powder and beat until combined.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
- Beat in salt and Oatsome Oat Flour until all the flour is mixed in well. The dough will be a little sticky.
- Remove the dough from the bowl into a dish, put it in plastic wrap, and chill for 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 375degrees.
- Remove dough from the fridge and let warm slightly.
- On a lightly floured surface, rollthe dough to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out into desired shapes using a 2-to-3-inch cookie cutter (dip cutters into oat flour to prevent them from sticking).
- Place cutouts 1 inch apart on parchment-lined cookie sheets.
- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes or until the edges are firm but not browned.
- Let cool on a wire rack.
- Tint buttercream frosting with food coloring; frost cookies. If desired, decorate with candy

Buttercream Recipe:
- In an extra-large bowl, beat 1 cup of softened butter with a mixer for 2 minutes or until creamy.
- Beat in 1 cup powdered sugar.
- Add 2 Tbsp heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla, and a dash of salt. Beat on lowspeed until combined.
- Gradually beat in 3 cups of additional powdered sugar just until combined. Beat on medium speed 5 minutes or until fluffy, scraping bowl.
- Add 1 Tbsp heavy cream and 1 tsp orange zest if desired. Beat on high for 1 minute more.
