Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • For the DIY Spiced Apple Crisp Syrup (makes 1/2 cup):
  • 1/2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, or 1 tsp packed ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • For the Drink:
  • 1 double shot of blonde espresso
  • 1-2 Tbsp apple syrup
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. 1. In a small saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar, apple juice, cinnamon sticks, and pinch of salt.
  2. 2. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Once simmering, reduce to low and cook for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Don't let the syrup boil. The syrup should begin to thicken.
  3. 3. Remove from the heat and add the vanilla extract. Let cool completely at room temperature. The syrup will continue to thicken as it cools.
  4. 4. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  5. 5. To Make the Shaken Espresso:
  6. 6. Add one double shot of freshly brewed espresso and 1-2 tbsp to taste of the apple crisp syrup in the sealable jar. You can add more syrup as needed later.
  7. 7. Add 4-5 ice cubes, place the lid on the jar, and shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds.
  8. 8. Pour the espresso and syrup mixture into your drinking glass (being sure not to add the ice cubes).
  9. 9. Add fresh ice cubes to the espresso mixture.
  10. 10. Pour the amount of Oatsome Barista you prefer into the glass. Taste and add more syrup if needed.
  11. 11. Enjoy your Iced Apple Crisp Oat Milk Shaken Espresso!
